This year I am co-head of the Mindfulness Club at my school.
As a student, stress is a common occurrence - assignments, exams, and extracurricular activities, it's easy to become overwhelmed. However, being mindful can greatly help in managing stress levels. Mindfulness entails being present in the moment, acknowledging your thoughts and feelings, and accepting them without judgment. This practice allows you to respond to stressors in a calm and rational manner. The Mindfulness Club focuses on decreasing stress, improving concentration and being in the present. We teach breathing and meditation techniques and hold fun activities to bring club members together in stress-free, fun ways. We strive to foster a sense of community and support, which can be crucial for students who may not have anyone to turn to.
